Unmistakable glacial striations were all over these harder-than-usual rocks. I've seen such marks in many places all over the world but sure didn't expect to find it in Hawaii! Just happened on this while jogging down the southside trail on Mauna Kea at about the 12,500' level - Sept. 2003. Mauna Loa in the distance.
