Nervous Upheaval
I took off on this trail as a spur to the Syncline Loop hike I was doing, determined to wash my boots in the river. But the more I traveled down this trail, the colder my feet got about finishing the rest of the Syncline hike while I still had light. At some point - probably within a half mile of the river - I turned back. It was a good call - I was trashed by the end of the day.

Upheaval Canyon
First hiked the nearby Fort Bottom Trail, then drove to here. Started at 10 a.m., very windy. Although much dust went into the air, the wind was pleasant. Reached the junction with Syncline Loop at 11:20 a.m. Wanted to go further on the spur trail to the center of the crater but was getting late so came back to trailhead and walked the short distance to Green River. Back to the Jeep by 1:20 p.m.
