From the Rooster Comb parking area to Basin and down to Slant Rock along the Gothic Ridge.
Still looking for that Bennies Brook slide ....
This was the first stop on a long day hike, followed by Armstrong, Gothics, Saddleback, Basin, and Haystack.
I was joined on this adventure by Mr. Steve and Mr. Baio.
Climbed on the way from Sawteeth to LWJ.. the knob from Upper to Lower Wolf Jaw was most disheartening.. NOt great views.. kind of peak only baggers want to climb.. Stick to Armstrong or Gothics for great views
Did as part of a loop with Gothics and Armstrong while staying at Peggy O' in January 2010. Also completed as part of a Great Range Traverse in August 1995.
This was part of the lower Great Range hike I did with some friends. The weather was perfect and the veiw from the summit was superb!
went up the notch, wasn't a bad hike until we reached the false summit and thought it was upper! NO VIEWS. then we finally got to the upper summit sign 20yds then it got better..there was great views when the clouds blew over. then kelly and i headed to armstrong to finish up the 5 on the loop. 38 to go!
After Gothics, almost Armstrong, no vis and alot of rain, I was really in the mood for this day to end. However, I was right there and I figured "what the hell?" Nice wooded, rocky summit, and I'm sure there was a view out there somewhere, but as I said, no visibility at all!
Alaway as part of Range.
Hiked with friends from Rooster comb trailhead. Not much of a view. good hike though
First time to the Adirondacks. Enjoyed the area very much - came back the next year to do a couple more.
Part of a three day camping trip. Left my full pack at the lean-to and day hiked these three. Lots of people on top of all three since it was Columbus Day weekend. Beautiful day and great views though. High Peak #12.
Climbed with Lower Wolf Jaw via Range Trail from the Ausable Club. Blueberries dotted the trailside for most of the way. A good interductory hike to New York's most rugged range. Excellent views from the summit.
This was part of an 18+ mile loop that included Upper Wolf Jaw, Armstrong, Gothics, Saddleback, and Basin.
Nice hike in the fall. Some rain and wind, but we lucked out for the most part. Mud, leaves, and slippery roots, but that's part of hiking this time of year. Scenic though. : ) Headed to Lower Wolf Jaw then back out via the road. 10/46
Hit this one en route to John's Brook Lodge coming from Gothics.
Not a bad summit, could be a lot better or worse. Little hot for october.
Last one before heading down to JBL. Tired and wet.
After having climbed Armstrong, me and a woman backpacker took the Range trail over to Upper Wolf Jaw, where we still had a view on a mostly cloudy day.
Hiked with brother Bob. Nice!
