# 1 and #2 can't remember the exact dates right now. 5-20-17 Part of Beatout hike with WMC. Fair weather day but long. W/ 7 others.
Part of the Beatout
Part of the Beatout with the Wasatch Mountain Club. The Initials of the peak stand for, "Un-named Peak West of the Pfeifferhorn"
Started in Alpine at the "Lehi , went up to 1st Hamengog, then up the Lake Hardy trail to Chipman and across Lightning ridge to Upwop (Airplane Peak). Some terrific scrambling to be had on that ridge. The winds were whipping and saw a guy's hat fly off his head and down into Hogum Gulch. He wasn't getting that one back ;) Best views I've ever seen of Pfeifferhorn from Upwop. Absolutely stunning.
Nice and easy scrambling from Pfeifferhorn!
Made the summit as part of the Beatout Hike with David and Kendrick. The views were among the best I've seen in the Wasatch, thanks in part to some cool, cloudy weather. See "Misty Mountains" trip report for details.
I did the Beatout Route with Brandon and Kendrick. It was an incredibly scenic route. It was a long day but worth it. (Pfiefferhorn, Upwop, Chipman, South Thunder).
05/29/10 as part of the Beatout
05/28/11 as part of the Beatout
6/30/14 Devil's to South Thunder
Traverse from Lone peak
Beatout w/ WMC. Long day, great scramble.
with WMC group
Did this as part of the beatout hike. Nice little detour for the view.
8/4/2013 With the WMC as part of the Beatout.
5/11/2013 As part of the Beatout.
6/3/2012 As part of the Beatout hike.
Upwop is the second of four peaks on the Beatout route, which I did May 19, 2012 with Joe B.
Worth doing for the views if you're on the beatout. I love Hogum.
I climbed it as part of the Beatout, but never heard the Upwop name. This is more a bump on the ridge than a true peak.
Went up Pfeifferhorn with a friend, breaking my rule of "never climb the same mountain twice" so I ran over to do this Upwop thingy to get something new in. 1/2 hour round trip. See the pictures at http://www.willhiteweb.com/wasatch_mountains/upwop/pfeifferhorn_369.htm
Climbed as part of the Beatout because it is over 11,000'
This is a very cool peak with some of the best views in the Wasatch.
