ScarcityIt is all about economic scarcity - how to choose between use scarce resources. But here I suppose both would end in a freezy bath - if it was a real conflict ;)

Re: ScarcityThe picture was set up for a funny Christmas Card shot by a friend who runs a river rafting/ kayaking business. The kayaker & I both stayed dry.
Peace, Jim

Thanks, Jim ...You probably wouldn't be surprised to
learn of all the real-life "user conflicts"
we have in central Arizona. The kayakers
and the jet-skiers for one, and the
hang-gliders and pilots for another.
Can't we all just ... get along???
Funny picture, Jim.

AwesomeFreaking hilarious. Also funny because the Poudre has had its share of climber/rafter feuds most recently about access to the Palace sport climbing area during high water.

Re: AwesomeThanks ... I haven't done any climbing in Poudre Canyon for quite awhile, so wasn't aware of the current conflicts.
Peace, Jim

Re: AwesomeYeah, a few years ago some climbers set up a tyrolean over the river to access the new sport development at the Palace (quarter mile up stream from the tunnel). It was a good 15-20 ft. over the river but the rafters cut it down. I haven't seen another tyrolean set up again.

On the edge of disaster...Great fast shutter speed. I love how the water just looks like it's frozen. :) See if you can get that same shot in June. It would have an agreeable symmetry to it. :) Most Ice Kayaking accidents involve taking out an Ice Climber on the way down. The rest involve not sticking the landing. :) Ok, I'm done.
