Okay ..I know the difference between sea
kayaking, river kayaking and tunnel
kayaking ... but what is DR? Is
there some way to get around those
fish ladders on the Columbia River?
There must be, because I always see
the wind-surfers having so much fun
out there. Have a nice day! LARRY

Re: Okay ..Hi Larry
The DR is the Dominican REpublic. This was part of a bridge that you had to crawl through in order to finish the descent.

Did you really kayakthrough this concrete pipe?

Re: Did you really kayakhaha - well up to the pipe and then after the pipe but couldn't quite through the pipe. It was pretty wild in that kids would climb on the back of the kayak and push you through so you couldn't set up, then they would jump off and watch you go through the hard stuff. I eventually dumped and drank a bunch of water. I had to drink a bottle of rum to counter the effects of the water!

Re: Did you really kayakSounds pretty wild Katie. But, from what I can see about you, I shouldn't be too surprised.
Great adventure, great memories.
