Carried in on an icebergThis lonely rock is a granitic boulder, found in an area of basalt of south eastern washington. It was carried to the area on an ice berg when an ice dam in montana broke and flooded this area of washington. Read more about it HERE.
This is well documented in a book called
"On the trail of the Ice Age floods" by Bruce Bjornstad.

Re: Carried in on an icebergIt is pretty amazing. Thanks for the vote and the interest. I just came back a few minutes ago from trying to find a way to a 100 ton erratic granite boulder that is afew miles from my house. It is on private property though.
