Great Ski!
The snow is holding up nicely for late May and made for a simple ascent of Vagabond's north slope from Brown Lake. Couldn't find summit register AND lost my crampons while scrambling to summit. Fantastic ski back to South Lake Road!

Crossed over from Cloudripper. Couldn't find a register. Must be very well hidden. Returned to South Lake parking lot via Green Lake. Walked on the old water pipeline fromm Bluff Lake. Easy on the knees.

En route to Cloudripper
Grabbed Vagabond en route to Cloudripper. There was a decent amount of snow up there already. I hope this bodes well for the season...we definitely need a wet winter to make up for the past 4 years.

Before Cloudripper
The register is in a hole under the main summit block, held in place with two rocks. It is not easy to find. I added a picture to aid future hikers.

On the Way to Cloudripper
Although I made it a point on the way out to find the high point, I never found a register. I went on to Cloudripper, and passed over the shoulder of Vagabond on the way back. The peak is also known as Thunder and Lightning Peak, which I think is a better name.

Tagged on the way to and from cloudripper. I climbed it two years ago, so does that make it my 2nd and 3rd summit today?

It was in the way
Took a long route from the north shore of South Lake (longer in distance and adds elevation gain on return) then took the trail all the way above Green Lakes. Had to go over Vagabond on way to Cloudripper. Summit blocks were a bit spicy though! Trip report is HERE.

Summited Vagabond via Green Lake. Had hoped to go on to Cloudripper but ran out of time. So Cloudripper remains on the "to do" list.

Why notOn the way back from Cloudripper. I found the way down to Green Lake to be endless semi-loose boulder-hopping hell, but that's just me. :-)
