Climbed during a backpack trip from Brown Lake.
Climbed a chute from Chocolate lakes just north of Vagabond Ridge. It was a very nice 3rd class route putting us on the west end of vagabond Ridge.
The register is tucked in a hole on the side of the summit block.
plastic bag with pen and paper....NEEDS A CONTAINER...
Day 8 of the 2010 Sierra Challenge. Trip Report
Started from South Lake along the water pipe to Green Lake. Hiked up to Coyote Ridge and then onto Vagabond Peak. Spectacular views from summit.
Easy Peak on the way to Cloudripper
Sierra Challenge alternate -- climbed it with Laura on the way to Cloudripper (she went to Sky Haven). Reclimbed it on the way back to place a pen (Cloudripper extra) with the summit log.
Day 8 of Sierra Challenge. Couldn't find the register on Vegabond-it owes its relevance to its proximity to cloudripper
Lots of boulder hopping.
I mean...Cloudripper ;^)
Vagabond needs a pencil or pen in its summit register
After thoroughly enjoying Cloudripper's West Chute, Blair and I tagged Vagabond over Class 3/4 boulders and descended straight down to Green Lake. No pen/pencil in summit register box. :P Awesome views up there!
Yeah, don't ascend from Brown Lake. Oops.
I was aiming for Cloudripper, but missed to the left.
Climbed Vagabond and Cloudripper with my dog..she had no trouble with either one.
Came over from Cloudripper, then descended the west chute of Vagabond.
The summit blocks are class 3
climbed vagabond on the way back from cloudripper - ascent via cloudripper west chute - descent down vagabond towards green lake - the chute between cloudripper and vagabond looks like a slick way down to the bishop lakes basin - maybe next time...
We stopped here. We were going to do cloudripper but felt too tired.
Decided to tag this on the way to CR. Popped up west of the summit on the ridge, some fun scrambling involve to the peak. Didn't find a register, but didnt look to hard. Fun little peak as long as your in the area.
Came with my friend to bag Cloudripper. Snow in the talus slowed us and we hit our turnaround time here,(damn daylight savings!!) so we turned back from here. Considered going back Sunday but snowed overnight and still snowing good in AM. Regardles was a great weekend out in the sierra
It's so close on the way to Cloudripper from Green Lake, that it was too tempting to pass up. I felt like a proper monkey bouldering up the ridge. Didn't find the summit register, possibly since I was rushing to get back to my group.
I could be a professional Boulder Hopper after this
