Via Livanos - Corno del Doge

Via Livanos - Corno del Doge

On the west face of the Corno del Doge the famous rock climber Georges Livanos opened one of his "crazy" routes, that is probably the most difficult climbing route in the group of the Marmarole.

Re: Ciao!

No way! I'm not a very good climber ( actually quite bad ), but if you want to climb this one you have to be a monster, I don't think it has ever been repeated. I saw the wall from the base and it's really scary, overhanging in some parts.

Re: Ciao!

There's a secured path ( sentiero della cengia del Doge ) on the big ledge that cuts the all the upper part of the mountain, from there you can take a close look at the wall. The route is explained in the book "Dolomiti Orientali" of the pioneer of the Dolomiti Antonio Berti.
