View of Lake Mead from the top of Bearing Peak. Lake Mead Area, Nevada. October 2007. If you like obscure peaks, Bearing Peak is one of them. Only a few people have been up there since 1988 according to the summit register. The route starts in Cottonwood Wash off the Northshore Road and it is 12 mile round trip. There is no water along the route and very little shade.
