Beaver Ponds is a very popular day hike out of Mammoth Hot Springs, but it's easy to see why the tourists like it with views like this. That's Sheep Mountain in the background center left, and the western slopes of Mount Everts on the far right with Gardner Canyon disappearing in front of it. Dead center is the Black Canyon of the Yellowstone, with high country upstream beyond. June 2009.
