View from Medicine Grizzly Peak

View from Medicine Grizzly Peak

Climbing Medicine Grizzly Peak (8315'), this view opens up looking west and southwest. Rounded summit filling the left foreground is not named, but moving a short distance right, the darkish straight-topped peak certainly is: it's Mount Stimson, at 10,142' GNP's second highest. The peak dominating center foreground is Razoredge Mountain (8570'), with its oft-hidden nice summit (the more distant of the two) clearly visible from this perspective; moving across the ridge from Razoredge brings up two mountains, the nearest of which is Triple Divide Peak (8020', and check out the link for information on its almost one-of-a-kind hydrological uniqueness), and you have to look carefully, but rising immediately behind Triple Divide is darkish Norris Mountain (8882'). In the background, almost equidistant between Razoredge and Triple Divide/Norris, is Blackfoot Mountain (9574'), with Mount Logan (9239') barely visible against the bulk of Norris Mountain. The roundish lake at near bottom is unnamed, the other is Medicine Grizzly Lake (5563'). Photo by Vernon, July 12, 2008.
