Re: great viewSorry, two different topics of conversation. This photo was taken in May and I was talking to Radek about this past weekend trying to do the South Side of Hood.
Yeah, at least this past Saturday (12/2/06), the Pearly Gates on the South Side looked near vertical with mixed snow and rock. A belay and protection would have been necessary from what we could see.

Cathedral RidgeThis is one of the best shots of CR that I have seen. Thanks for posting it. It's a tedious approach, but I want to do it. Not sure if starting at Timberline is best or heading straight up from Lolo Pass. Might as well do both so I'll know!
