View of Calderone glacier

View of the upper part of Ghiacciaio del Calderone, the southermost glacier in Europe, from the summit of Vetta Centrale of Corno Grande. At the bottom of the valley (not visible in the photo) the glacier surface is completely hidden by stones and rocks. The boundary between rock and ice, however, is recognizible - October 2006
