This is a view of Yampa Canyon from a spot very close to the mouth of Sand Canyon on the unofficial trail from Echo Park to Sand Canyon. The trail is mostly a network of game trails that see regular human use, and I'd recommend that you favor the higher options. You can see the trail in the lower left corner of the image, which is a typical stretch. Aside from a few brief patches, it's in good shape. May 2011.
