Caraiman (2260m) in Bucegi MtsView across the Prahova Valley, towards the Gârbova (Baiului) Mountains (Ciucaş beyond them).
The cross on the top of Caraiman is a World War I Memorial erected in the late 1920's.

Re: Caraiman (2260m) in Bucegi MtsYes and was built between 1926 - 1928 for the romanian workers on the railways (CFR) who died in the World War I, fighting against the german army. The cross was built of the iniative of the Queen Maria and King Ferdinand I of Romania. :)
