Summit view to the northwest from Apikuni Mountain. Impressive Mount Merritt and Old Sun Glacier dominate the left hand side of the photograph, with the sharp point to the right of the glacier belonging to rarely visited Natoas Peak. Behind and to the right is massive Mount Cleveland, the highest peak in all of Glacier National Park. The steep, shaded face in the foreground belongs to Crowfeet Mountain; follow the jagged ridge to the right until you reach a low, red saddle where the shadow abruptly ends. This is a point along the goat trail from Ptarmigan Tunnel to Redgap Pass, a fantastic mountaineering route. September 15, 2008
