What's the goal...

...of publishing in Summitpost hundreds of pics like this one at the same time, many of them meaningless like this view of chairs?

Re: What's the goal...

Hi livioz,

Thanks for the question. Here's my response.

As opposed to the west, the climbing/hiking/exploring in India (be it Himalaya or any other range) is a mixture of history, legacy, culture and tradition of the locals who many a times go out of the way to help wanderers like us.
This was one such incident, when the guy hadn't opened his shop yet, but looking at our condition (hadn't eaten for a long time), he got out of bed, and prepared a basic breakfast for us, while sitting with us, listening to our tales of the hikes, infused with the rich history of the battles fought (at the site of his village) by the great Maratha King - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj! Naturally, not being educated, he wasn't aware of the history.

The meaningless view of chairs denotes a local's initiative to assist people like us - wandering in the mountains. We were deeply indebted to him, hence I took the pic.

Hope this helps.
Still, if you feel - I shall remove the picture.

Regards,
Sam.

P.S. - Just wondering if you are one of the "elves", as you commented while the page was under construction. Pardon my ignorance, haven't posted in SP for a long time, hence the question.

Re: What's the goal...

No, I am not an elf.
All the 130 photos that you posted at one time (lowering the visibility of the few photos posted by other Summitpost members) are visible to everybody also while the page where they are attached is under construction.
Greetings.
Livioz
