Thank you.This photo was shot in the early morning. The NE face of the summit in the front, called Aiguille Noire (black needle) receives his only sunrays of the day and loses momently his black color.

Was it taken from the Tignes ski tracks?

Yes. This photo was taken near the Col du Palet (I walked only 100 m higher direction Pointe du Chardonnay to improve the scale of the view). From here you can leave the skiresort of Tignes and begin a wonderful (and easy) descent through the National Park of the Vanoise to Champagny. Chamois encounter guaranteed !
