no basket

This guy is missing the basket from his left pole. I'd hate to plant that into some spring muck! Did it once in California and ended up with a bent pole.

It fell off while climbing Fletcher. It actually helped on the steep ascent. I didn't notice it on the descent, but we didn't encounter any muck.

cool, glad your pole made it down in one (linear) piece. ;-) Great action shot, BTW. Having walked down it once, I'd be afraid to ski that couloir!
