Getting There

Comming from Innsbruck, drive along the highway A12 to Wiesing (about 35km).
Use the gateway at wiesing to leave the highway and change to the main street to Mayrhofen.
After about 40km you will reach Mayrhofen. Parking at the cable way (Ahornbahn).

Way to the summit

Starting at Mayrhofen you will have two opportunities:
- a) using the cable way to reach a level of 2000m
- b) launching at the valley

Ahornspitze

For poor snow winters it is recommended to use the cable way!

a) using the cable way:
shortly walk up to the the end of the lift and leave the piste leftwards.
For easier orientation follow the signs to the Edelhütte to a sharp descent.
Then follow the mountain chain seen in the picture by constant improvement of height. The top of Ahornspitze always ahead and leads you the way. The last hundred meters follow the south ridge.

b) launching at the valley
follow the piste up to the mountain station of the ahornbahn. Then follow a).

Camping

Usually camping is not nessecary. If you need more time, sleep at Edelhütte (2238m). Best service and well equiped accomodation are offered. Make sure the hut has opened!

Children

Children refers to the set of objects that logically fall under a given object. For example, the Aconcagua mountain page is a child of the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits.' The Aconcagua mountain itself has many routes, photos, and trip reports as children.
