What ?Did the road crew ever show up? Is that

Re: What ?It's a state-maintained road (CO 5) though it travels entirely within U.S. Forest lands. It's primary purpose is to allow people to drive nearly to the summit of Mount Evans (14,265 ft.). This scenic byway holds the distinction of being the country's highest paved road and is only open about 3 months of the year. The mini-avalanche we encountered there in the picture was at around 12,000 ft. elevation. Didn't even think to try the cell, just got out and started pushing snow to get the clearance shown! This was so early in the season and on a weekday to boot , that there we only saw 3 or 4 other cars on the entire 14-mile length. No sign of a road crew while we there.

Mini avalanch!I am always weary of this hapening to me when my wife and I venture out on these high roads in winter or spring. At least it wasn't a large boulder blocking the road.

Impressive...Not sure how you felt at the time, but I'd think a photo and experience like that might be worth the effort you had to put in to get by... Nice photo.
