Abernathy Peak is at right-center beyond the foreground ridge. Photo taken from just below Pt. 8487 on the corner of the ridge between Gardner and North Gardner mountains. July 4, 1998 right before a bolt of lightning striking N. Gardner's summit forced a hasty descent. The white stuff on the scree in the foreground is pea-sized hail.
