In the canyon of Mala...

In the canyon of Mala...

In the canyon of Mala Paklenica. On many places it is so narrow that bottom is the only way to go. Smooth cliffs rise straight above, on this spot 300m, which makes it impassable when waters of Mala Paklenica creek fill it. That happens frequently in autumn, winter and spring after heavier rain or suddes snow meltdown. In summer whole canyon is dry. Mala Paklenica is so wild and it has been left over to nature while Velika Paklenica took a burden of 99% of visitors and all climbers. In Mala Paklenica climbing is forbidden and you will rarely meet someone even in peak summer season while in the rest part of the year that is almost mission impossible, which is great.

Re: Well...

Yes Vid, it happens frequently but flow is not constant. It was dry when you were here, I saw on the photos that even snow was in remains only. If you had come after the rain water would be in the canyon. But it also quickly retreats from last part. As you get deeper inside chances that there is water increase so if there is no water at the entrance it doesn’t mean that you’ll pass all the way.
