Martin nearing the rap...

Martin nearing the rap station on the descent. The rap station is located in the snow-free wall directly behind him. The rappel goes out of sight to the left. Feb. 22, 2004.

Your guess is as good as mine concerning that blur in the middle of the photograph. And I was thinking it was going to be such a great shot when I took it. Oh well.

Its an alpine dust devil

Either that or a refraction of some kind on airborne ice crystals....Great photograph by the way
