Thanks Rob - Yes, there is some quite remote and serious country up there - and in the right conditions stunningly beautiful - I'm putting in a trip report in the next few days if you are interested to know more!

Very nice set of photos, I must confess that I didn't know Scotland has such a quality of alpine territory.

Thanks Tim - Yes, in a good year Scotland can be very Alpine - or even Arctic - and a lot of people get caught out! Have to say though, conditions were exceptional this year. You do get the odd year like it, but generally later in the season.

Thanks Stephen - Yes, probably the most stunning sunset I have seen in Scotand in 40 years worth of trips. The light of sunset or dawn always seems that much more vivid just before the weather breaks - which a few hours later is what happened.
