Wild ice on the Pers Glacier
Imagine having to find your way through this in the dark!
If you start too early on the normal route to Piz Palü east from Berghaus Diavolezza, you might find yourself doing just that. We only came down here, early afternoon. Next day, we saw several groups leaving early, but not too much so. They would be here not long after sunrise.
