Overview

Courthouse Mountain is a beautiful peak in western Colorado, San Juan range of Rocky Mountains. The trail is well marked, and easy to follow. It is only 1.8 miles one way, making this a nice and short trip. The mountain looks very impressive from the distance, and there is a short scrambling section making this hike interesting even for an experienced mountaineer.
The views of Chimney Rock from this hike are amazing! I love this part of San Juans - Cimarron range, many interestingly shaped peaks, and very uncrowded.

typo

do you mean Courthouse? sorry for asking, but why have an album when you can just add these pictures to the mountain page? seems redundant, but what do I know about points and contributions...

Re: typo

yes, it was typo. Thanks. I think album does not give you many points, perhaps none. I don't know. WHy album? I took more than 200 photos, plus have many photos from my previous visits. I thought that it is pretty nice peak with a nice surrounding, and many people just enjoy looking at the photos (I do.) I think that I have seen many albums on SP which had only 2-3 photos, and no description at all, compared to those this is not a bad album per my opinion.
And if the mountain site has a place for adding album, route, trip report etc, why not to add an album? I live in this area, I can see Chimney rock and Courthouse from the town where I live, I felt like doing a bigger contribution, and I do enjoy "wasting" time on SP. Sorry, I don't see that this is wrong. Regarding points - I co-share many sites, which I have totally redone, and the owner got all the points.

Courthouse

Liba,

I want to thank you for this album. As I am in charge of rebuilding both the mountain page as well as the standard route page for Courthouse Mountain, your images have been invaluable.

I will add some of my "greatest hits" from my own summit of this peak as well as those that do an especially good job of illustrating the route (esp. the higher portions), but you've got some really great images here!

Re: Courthouse

Thanks so much and good luck with rebuilding the page! Courthouse is one of my favorite hikes here.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
