The Hole in the Rock

This formation, which has no official name but several unofficial ones, is perhaps the most interesting feature along the route. The summit is not far away from here, and getting to this point feels like a bit of a reward after the very steep quarter mile before it. Death Valley National Park, CA-- April 2014
