Looks slippery

Looks like you would need crampons just walk on that! ;)

Yes, we needed crampons. No, we did not have them. It was a bit comic what it took to get to that spot up a mild slope - we butt slid back.

Indeed! This collection of Sandstone canyons 2 hours from Chicago has saved my sanity for 25 years. Believe me, it is a huge help in otherwise nature strapped Illinois. My wife and I make a point to go here every winter. Check out an excellent 'mountain' page:
