dec?climbed in early december? thats really interesting! why off season? was it really 'off' at all?

Why DecemberWe got lucky on vallumaraju and the weather was the same as when I was there in September. We got the typical rainy season whether though a few days later on Pisco and had to cancel summit. Flights to Lima are 350 usd rt in December from minneapolis. As far as I'm concerned early December is fine for climbing 5000m peaks in cordierra blanca, but the weather is unpredictable. Once a month in the peak season a big storm will roll thru as well, so no guarantees at any time of the year.
