A climber on the summit ridge

Best viewed in fullsize.. A climber on the summit ridge of Pollux as seen from the summit itself; early in the morning on a beautiful August day. In the background you can recognize Gran Paradiso (4061m, snowcapped peak), La Grivola (3969m) and even La Grande Motte & La Grande Casse (3855), the highest peak in the French Vanoise. Polux, Monte Rosa, August 2015

Beautiful!

Sadly I didn't see this view when I was there in 2014. It was latish in the day and clouds had bubbled up, enveloping the summit in mist. However, this was made up for by the fantastic views we had from the top of Castor earlier on in the morning - and up to about 2/3 of the way up Pollux.
best wishes, Mark

Re: Beautiful!

Thanks Mark! We had a similar thing with the weather, but ''the other way around''. We started the day with climbing Pollux (great weather) and after Pollux we climbed Castor. On top of Castor the weather was still OK but on our descent to the Quintino Sella Refuge the weather changed quickly and the views dissappeared. Still, an awesome day.
Cheers, Lodewijk
