Spires immediately next to Owl Rock (off to the right, not in photo) and the snowy conditions that greeted us in Moab on that morning (after the 1000 mile overnight drive and only 1.5 days for climbing...we were not happy; March 26, 2005). Scott Patterson pointed out that the two features at center of photo are Adam and Eve formations.

Newcomers

to Arches are often put off by the weather, and it can ideed get very cold there. I've had my share of battles with wind and weather at Arches. I've also learned that Arches is like Colorado. If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. Rain and snow storm aftermaths are short lived. Such is the high desert!

Re: Newcomers

If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes I've heard that expression used to describe the weather in the PNW. Though I don't think it applies to OR/WA in winter time...more like if you don't like the rain, oh well!

Adam and Eve...

That's great! In central Arizona, it's
"If you don't like the weather, wait two
minutes!"
