Vishnu Temple

Late afternoon light on Vishnu Temple seen from a nice perch above Hance Creek. That's a big piece of rock and is very prominent from just about everywhere along the eastern end of the Tonto Trail. I'd love to climb that thing some day. 11-22-2006.

Wow!

In that light it really looks like a temple. What difficulties you will find on the routes up there?

Re: Wow!

Thanks Herbert. It's a beautiful rock. I believe most routes would need some rope work but not too much really hard climbing. The most common approach, from the rim of the canyon behind, requires a 35 meter abseil and the rope must be left in place for the return ascent.

Re: Amazing

Thanks Jon. This is a stitch two images made with a very sharp and distortion-free 50mm lens that seems to soak up detail pretty good.

Re: Great photography...

Thanks for your kind words Larry. That's an especially nice comment coming from somebody whose collection of desert photographs is so excellent. One of these days I'm going to move down that way and I'll be able to call myself Jim of AZ. Cheers.

Re: How flattering...

One of these days, I'm going to CLIMB out of the desert and into the gorgeous mountains of central Colorado. Thanks & cheers! :)
