Vitaliy Rapping Eichorn Pinnacle

Vitaliy Rapping Eichorn Pinnacle

Vitaliy M. rapping down from the summit of Eichorn Pinnacle following our climb up the West Face Direct. Nice of him to be patient while I run off to take pictures eh? September 2013

Re: Damn!

You planned a great trip. Maybe not Peru, but well worth a butt freezing cold morning. Soon my fingers will be able to feel again I hope!

Awesome,...

photo Chad. Perfect framing, composition and timing.

I'm not too surprised to see snow up there in September!
POTD in my book!

Re: Awesome,...

Ah thanks so much Marc!

I took about 35 photos from various distances. Hoped at least one would come out. Lots of cool poses and then he almost rapped off the summit before I realized it! Could barely whip the camera back out in time.

Re: Awesome,...

I would actually have to agree. This one is POTD type of shot.

Re: Awesome,...

Across from it is another spire called The Panic Pillar. Even though shorter, the climb and the summit are both much more epic. Maybe Chad will post a few photos some time.

Instant Classic!

Hands down this is one of your best photos. Great composition and feeling of what it is like to be in the rugged alpine.

Re: Instant Classic!

A 10 from Josh! :-)))

Thanks Josh. Yes was a great moment. I really like that spot up there. And as the weather gets colder it's great to find the rugged alpine just two miles from the car!

Super clear too!

Still using the Powershot? 'Cause this looks with great detail when blown up.

Re: Super clear too!

And that's only 60% of the resolution of the original. ;-)

But I didn't drop it down nearly as much as I usually do, as I agree it needs to be blown up to look it's best. Awesome on my desktop right now.

Still the same Powershot. Vitaliy has a better camera than me and at some point maybe I need to step up, but this one is still plugging along with some decent success so far.

Thanks Noondueler!
