Volcanic dikes formed by...

Volcanic dikes formed by magma filling cracks in a sedimentary layer. That layer later eroded away leaving the dikes. These formations lead to the Spanish Peaks being designated a National Natural Landmark in 1976. Photo taken 1 Sep 2003.
