Wahpenayo Peak during Sunset

Taken on January 18, 2010 from Mount Rainier. The sunset was very lovely, I wish I could have stayed longer on the mountain, but the gate was going to close and bad weather was coming in. Wahpenayo Peak is apart of the Tatoosh Range, WA.

Re: Nice Sunset

Thanks Chad, I almost did not get to go on this trip because the forecast said terrible weather. I then decided well I better go anyways, and worse case scenario if it was a white out I would go back down. Fortunately I made the right call here.

Re: Nice Sunset

I've often been in the same situation. You said you were on Rainier. I've done it once but not familiar with the immediate area. Which side and elevation is this from?

Re: Nice Sunset

This was taken from the South Side of Mount Rainier on the way to Camp Muir. This was probably taken at 6,500 feet or so.
