Walking on Clouds

Living in Boise, Idaho, we frequently see inversions in the valley during the winter months. Of course, we are experiencing this once again, so I decided to try to capture a unique picture. Travelling up Bogus Basin Rd after class, I drove up to around 4800 ft which put me above the inversion. It was definitely quite the sight, and others thought the same since there were quite a few cars already parked where I decided to stop. Being the adventuresome person I am, I opted to hike away from the crowds a bit and experience the beauty privately. Thankfully, I was rewarded with this view (which was exceptional!)

just fine!

Reminds me of the SF bay area fog. Coastal in summer, inland in winter.

Re: just fine!

Indeed, I hope to get to that area (and the northern Redwoods) for some photography shoots. Someday... :)

Cheers,
Kris

Normally...

...I don't vote on pictures not attached to informative pages, but this is a cool shot and I really like your caption explaining it. Nice!

Re: Normally...

Thank you Bob, I didn't really know what to attach it to. I may wander around and see if anything is applicable. In the meantime, I would like to thank you for the kind words. It's much appreciated!

Cheers,
Kris

Re: Normally...

I was up there all afternoon skiing with my camera looking for a killer shot but had to go early and missed this (sigh...). I've been skiing Bogus for 50 years (this season) and that's the best shot of the inversion over the valley I've seen yet. You nailed it man.

Wow, I didn't know you were actually from the Boise area! You may know Splattski, SuperDave, and Dan Robbins (IdahoSummits). I do appreciate your words, and if you've been skiing Bogus for that long I'm sure you've also seen your fair share of beautiful sunsets.

Thanks again!
Kris
