Wallowa Panorama

Wallowa Panorama

This is a panorama of some of the western most peaks in the Wallowa Mountains. This was taken from the summit of Pete's Point using 12x zoom. These peaks are located to the right of Eagle Cap when viewed from the summit of Pete's and appear very small when seen by the naked eye. From right to left, following the same ridge, you see China Cap, Burger Butte, Granite Butte, and Mule Peak. The peak at dead center on the second ridge in is Peak 8845, which is at the head of Blue Lake. Following that same ridge right you see the edge of Brown Mountain. In the distant horizon you have the Elkhorns. Left to right are Mount Ruth, Twin Peaks, Peak 8525, Peak 8538, Van Patton Butte and the little knob on the right is Gunsite Peak. The peaks on the ridge just in front of the Elkhorns are peaks 8653, 8934 and 8772. These are just north of Echo Lake. Thanks go out to MRH and pruniemae for help with peak identification. another peak name

I believe the peak to the left of Granite Butte is Mule Peak (USFS Lookout). Don't know the others further to the left.

Re: another peak name

Thank you! I had been meaning to update this picture for awhile and kinda forgot about it.

Whoa!

I really need to get out that way. Solo, tomorrow ... maybe? Solo scares me a little in such a remote place, but I still might do it.
