Been down this canyon many times on school field trips when I was in Elementary Shcool.

Nice hiking rest stop
Stopped in at this National Monument and enjoyed the island trail with my wife and four kids while traveling to Mancos, Colorado to a family reunion. Cool cliff-dwellings that are not so "cliffy."
Revisited again on June 26, 2007, a day after hiking up Mt. Union and a day before hiking the Sycamore Canyon Rim Trail including KA Hill. Checked out the Rim Trail this time as well as the Island Trail again. Fun place to visit when you are passing by or in the area.

Way back whenIn the 1990s, this was one of the places that made me fall in love with the Southwest. Went back the next decade to explore more in-depth.

Island TrailThe views here really got my imagination going back in time. Such a magical and historic place.

...Our friends in Flagstaff suggested that we check out Walnut Canyon. Way cool. Would love to return and do some more hiking nearby.

Walnut CanyonHiked the Island Trail and Rim Trail in Walnut Canyon. Part of the trail was closed due to rock fall.
