King Canyon TH to Wasson, Amole and then down Gould Mine Trail. A beautiful and very unique environment.
interesting flora too
Great Day. First trip with just me and my brother.
Parked at the end of Ruthrauff and started hiking. The trail is in great shape as it circles the mountain looking for just the right spot to start ascending. Eventually it finds that spot and before I knew it I was on the summit. Great views, as expected!
Do not even remember it but have it on my trail log as a summit back in '01
with a little bit of rain coming down...super!
My twice weekly trail run for a year and ahalf
Fun, scenic hike on easy trails to the top. Great views in all directions.
I took the Sweetwater Trail to the top from the Camino Del Cerro TH. 3 hours round trip. I saw a Bobcat on the trail; Overall a great time.
Hiked trail up this popular peak with my wife.
Had been up many years earlier with brother Neil
in the dark of night.
Loved the mines. Other than that this seems like a great jogging trail.
Enjoyed this hike with my parents and husband on a brilliant, sunny spring day. Surprisingly, we had the summit to ourselves! We headed up the King's Canyon trail and returned via the Gould Hill Mine-Esperanza Trail. Fantastic day in the sun.
A great one to do in December. The desert scenery is
nothing short of spectacular.
My first time hiking on the western US and in the desert. A love affair started that day.
This hike totally surprised me! It was beautiful and actually felt like a real summit!
Classic Sonoran desert scenery. We did this as a loop going counterclockwise, King Canyon to the saddle with sweetwater then up to the summit and then down the Hugh Norris to Esperanza to Gould Mine. This was less than half a mile longer than an out and back via any option so it is a good way to do the peak.
Great winter hike on an excellent trail. The views are unique -- there's just nothing to compare it to where I'm from. Saquaro cactus cover this mountain from bottom to top. Wow.
Wonderful new years stroll to a gorgeous view.
Climbed Fall 2005 with Chris
Loved this trail! Great views of Saguaro National Park, and an excellent way to see the desert up close. I have an in-depth trip report complete with photos on my website at Natural Born Hikers Feel free to check it out.
