"Willow weeping in the water, Waving to the river daughters, Swaying in the ripples and the reeds." Along the Verde River's riparian area, a quiet spot on the river reveals the November foliage. Seen are willows, cottonwoods, salt cedar and sycamores. In the distance rise the arid foothills of the Mogollon Rim. I saw a river otter earlier in the day, frolicing upriver. November 7, 2009

Actually, this is a quiet spot along the river
where catfish splash and otters swim.

Some say there's beaver, but I haven't been
lucky enough to witness a sighting.
