Storm Pass - was stormy, lots of thunder made me run faster. Also added 12809 peak. 7 hrs RT and ran pretty much 95% of the time.
With Rachael, #500/584 on 13ers for me and a great peak to reach such a milestone given the tremendous views of 13ers in every direction! Past peak on fall color, but still a beautiful hike, the cliff walls above the approach trail were spectacular.
Great fall color on this long slog.
With Antelope Benchmark.
Long day just over 9 hours. Nice valley reminds me of silverjack area
This was a lovely hike. I can't imagine a more idylic valley then that of Mill Creek. Two days before this I hiked up the more popular Snowmass Creek yet I found this drainage much more profound. The Castles are everything you could imagine. My photos do not give them justice. If I was smart I would have arainged things so I was at Storm Pass at either the early morning or at dusk to get light that better illuminates those serene pinnacles... Whatever the case I had fune here... And after my 18.5 mile hike I kicked back with a bottle of Hornitos to get rather pickled.
