The first half of this is a road slog on the most torn up road I have ever seen. They meant business when they destroyed this road. Upon reaching the end of the road, ascend the obvious rib towards the summit ridge. It's steep with hard packed dirt and pine needles, but it's a lot of fun.
There is a clear trail that leaves the end of the road descending away from the ridge; I have no idea where it goes and it is definitely not an official trail.
