Beautiful Fall Day
Hiked up with Sally from Williams Lake. A fun hike on a beautiful fall day. Had a beer at Taos Ski Valley just before they closed for the fall. Also hiked Black Mesa in Oklahoma on this trip.

They make it hard to get here with closed roads due to construction. Nice hike though even though it's hard to tell what the trail is. Sad logging all over tearing this place up. Rich people need to ski though. Interesting hikers too. Pass by dreadlock Jesus in sandals up top. And two grandmas crushing it on their ridge hike.

Great View! Easy and Enjoyable Hike!
I love this hike! Great Exercise, nothing technical, and rewarding view from the top. Trail is easy to navigate.
I took the Williams Lake route which is a great trail all the way to the top. Views were great!

Fifth state high!
Saw marmots and mountain goats! Great day for another high point. Traversed past the peak for amazing views of the nearby lake. None could get the register open and once I twisted it off everyone came running over to sign it! Part of a 3 state highpoint trip with kings and Elbert the previous week!

A Morning in the Sangres
Started from the trailhead with my buddy at 5:00 am. We missed the turn off to Wheeler Peak and had to backtrack through the woods from Williams Lake. Beautiful summit conditions with clear views. Felt so good that we decided to bag Old Mike, Simpson, and Walter, as well! State high point #8

From William's Lake Trailhead
Hiked up in the dark so I could be back early to check out from our room. There was a big storm earlier that evening but no sign of it after I got up. Saw fox and big horn sheep on the way up. Nothing tough about this one.
Pretty area and easy compared to Mt. Humphreys in AZ.

Left the Williams Lake TH with an empty lot. Mostly snow packed until well above tree line. Micro spikes were a good idea. Headed over to Walter before dropping back down. Great day, no other climbers out.

Successful Summit
Took the back side of the mountain. Long and shallow trail compared to lake williams. Could be fun during the winter to come back and snow shoe. Two alpine lakes on the way up. 20 Miles round trip.

Second of a triple
Wasn't fully motivated for this one and especially since the start is in your face from almost the first step. Wind was anticipated but not big sustained blowing power. I can't stand wind! Got blown off at 4 miles. Not sure a redo is in the cards...

HP # 22Took Bull-of-the-Woods for nice solitude up the trail, then came down the steep Williams Trail. Great day with some fantastic wildlife.

Sunny & WindyAn odd day on the mountain. Everyone had masks and either raised them up when approaching others or kept them on all the time.
The climb itself was good. Very windy on the summit. Tagged Walter why I was up there.
