When you have made the long...

When you have made the long hike up to the Abbot Pass, and you are looking for a place to rest, here's a view inside of the Abbot Hut. The beautiful stone hut was constructed in 1922 by Swiss guides. The open area with the kitchen on the right and the custodians room on the left. Upstairs is the sleeping area which sleeps 24. Elevation of the hut is 9598' Early Sept. 2002 and we have the place to ourselves. LtoR Greg (Custodian) John and Dan

Party time!

We went very early in the season (June 1993) & had the place to ourselves also. It was GREAT!!! This is one of my all-time fave huts: amazing views, & you sleep right on the Continental Divide.
