"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Mutiple routes and climbsI usually do this peak in combination with Red Baldy, I've done well over a dozen climbs. I have lead a hike for the WMC called Red White Red White, about 10 times going up Red Pine to White Baldy, to Red Baldy and Down White Pine. I also have a White Red Silver Combo, climbing the South West Ridge via the Silver Flats area traversing to Red and the descending past Silver Glance and Silver Lakes, I've done that route twice.

Forgot to bring mapAscended via Red Pine lakes in beautiful weather. I attempted to traverse to Red Baldy and out via White Pine, but I neglected to study the route beforehand, and couldn't find a viable way down without getting cliffed out. Fun!

Springtime Fun5/30/09 Went back and ascended the line I glissaded last year. It was as fun as I thought it would be. I continued on to Red Baldy and down White Pine. That ridge is quite the scramble, made more interesting by the spring snow.
5/31/08 What a great climb. The high snow year made for tons of snow still in upper Red Pine. This was a very beautiful sight. We ascended the west ridge, and I picked a glissade line down the north face just west of the summit. The line I picked might make a fun spring ascent line as well.

Bullion DivideThis was my first time climbing White Baldy even though I have been near the mountain several times. I went up the Northeast Ridge and descended the West Ridge. I really like the scrambling on this peak. White Baldy is just as interesting as the Pfiefferhorn but is climbed less often.

Part of Bullion DivideThe ridge between red and white baldy was really fun as was the north ridge to upper red pine lake that we took down. Excellent views. Definitely an under appreciated peak.

Various routesMy 2nd time at the summit. With Brent and Lana leading out, we reached the summit in 2+40 (7-17-07). This was part of our Red White Red White climb. So we scrambled the ridgeline over to Red Baldy, then found a route down to White Pine. This entire exercise took us 7+30. A really great hike. My 3rd time on the summit was the result of a trek from the Granite Flats Campground, up to the top of Box Elder Peak, and then north along the entire ridgeline to the summit of White Baldy. It took Brent, Kim, Lana and me 7 hours to reach the White Baldy summit. That ridgeline is a classic. 5-13-08 4th time was a snow climb in combination with a summiting of Pfeifferhorn. From the summit of the Pfeiff to the summit of White Baldy was 2+30. This entire exercise took 10+45 from White Pine TH and back. Fabulous snow conditions for May 13th. 5th time (6-14-08) was a repeat of the Red/White/Red/White climb which adds Red Baldy and a descent to below White Pine lake. A WMC hike led by Lana, it took 8+25 and was fabulous to the max because of excellent consoidated snow conditions and a bluebird day. #6 6-22-10 W/ Dave. Bullion Divide in reverse to Snowbird Tram. 3 hrs to White Baldy summit, 9 total hours to the tram. Excellent snow when it was there! #7 5-31-11 W/ Dave & Christine. Record snowpack, 17" fresh, driving winds lifting spindrift to unbelievable heights above the ridges. #8 6-11-11 W/ Sharon, Bob, Dennis & Glen for WMC RWRW. 3+59 up. #9 5-5-12 Ein wunderbarer Weg, Cinco de Mayo zu feiern! Perfect consolidated snow on the western slope above Upper Red Pine Lake. #10 5-29-12 W/ Dave Prep hike for WMC RWRW. Crampons, ice ax up the entire west slope! Bluebird day. #11 6-8-13 WMC annual RWRW with excellent snow almost all the way to the top. #12 6-5-14 Prep hike for the RWRW. Consolidated snow from the Maybird Bridge area. Bluebird day and bigtime IVD. 3+06 up. #12 6-7-14 WMC annual RWRW; fine group but missing ONE!

Fun scrambleDid this solo. *Great* fun! I walked up to Red Pine then scrambled up onto the ridge between Red Pine and White Pine, gaining the ridgeline probably just above the 11,000 ft contour. Some moves were real attention-getters. I saw several goat wallows along the way. Had a brief stare-down with one of the goats just short of the ridge. I wish I could move over rough terrain the way they do!
Awesome views from the summit. I particularly enjoyed the views of Timp. I'm relatively new to the SLC area, and this was a great summit for helping me figure out where stuff is.

Route Climbed: White Pine headwall, down Red Pine headwallSolo.
What a fantastic hike! I believe this mountain is underappreciated. It doesn't have the pointy prominence of nearby Pfeifferhorn, but is only 5 feet shorter and has excellent scrambling and a variety of snowy ascent options.
I climbed up the smaller of the two main snowfields leading to the east ridge, dropped to the south side eventually to avoid the increasing exposure and saw a black bear lumber across. Regained the ridge just west of the summit via a notch. Descended down the main "couloir" into Red Pine.
A wonderful adventure.

ROUTE; Upper Red Pine and West RidgeBeautiful views of north end of Utah Valley and Utah Lake and surrounding mountains. Desended the north ridge bordering White Pine for a short distance, then to east side of upper Red Pine Lake. Did hike with "bignick". The view of White Baldy from the towns of American Fork and Lehi will give you an idea of how awesome this hike is.

Great scramblingAttacked the north face boulder field via white pine. Great scrambling over huge boulders, the last bit up to the notch had alot of loose rock this late in the seasn so be warry of your partner, after that there was some fun scrambling on solid granite slabs on the south side to the top, very enjoyable with a sense of solitude lacking from some of the nearby peaks.

Route: West RidgeA wonderful climb, dancing on precarious bolders all the way to the summit. Exposure keeps you focused. You can't help but to learn a lot about yourself on this climb.

BeatMy will power was nearly gone when I saw the ominous White Baldy looming in the distance. I sucked it all up and headed up the ridge. I am glad that I did, and I will return to hike it again.

West ridgeJuly 25, 2005 - Hiked up to the Pfeiff via red lake, West facing ridge looked like some fun scrambling so we ascended the west ridge up to white baldy. A few bouldering moves along the way, kept it interesting. Came down the north ridge of white baldy and had some nice downclimbing with great exposure!

One of my favorite mountainsThe West Ridge was awesome, coming down the north face was even better. This mountain remains one of my favorites in the Wasatch. It's central location provides outstanding views. There were also thunderstorm clouds that began to build in the late morning, and filter through Dry Creek basin, below White Baldy. The clouds provided a surreal setting that made the climb even better.
The west ridge in winter/spring conditions gets 5 stars in my book. Highly recommended.

Multiple Routes7/4/11 - Climbed the north side of the west face with Brian. Had to get out quick because of bad weather moving in. Snow conditions were perfect!
5/30/09 - Climbed as part of the Red/White/Red/White. The ridge between Red & White Baldy is incredible! Ascended the west face directly to the summit ridge.
5/31/08 - Climbed with Ammon Hatch and Jared. It turned out to be a picture perfect day with perfect snow conditions. This is definitely one of my favorite mountains in the Wasatch.
Route - Red Pine / West Ridge.
5/6/06 - Climbed the west ridge with Matt and Alan. Beautiful Day and fantastic views.

Route Climbed: South Face Date Climbed: July 16, 2005Outstanding mountain! I had never been to the south side of White Baldy and I'm sad it took me so long to discover. Silver Lake is truly spectacular. Route was fun and snow was in good shape for mid-July. The views are probably the best I've seen in the Wasatch because of the mountain's central location. You have big peaks on every side. Highly recommended!

Route Climbed: From Silver Lake American Fork Canyon Date Climbed: July-6-2005We started from Silver Lake Flat and hiked the trail to Silver Lake, from Silver Lake we headed up the western side of White Baldy (opposite Sliver Glance route). The route takes you along the south west ridge up to the summit of White Baldy. The snow is still deep and cramp-ons would have been nice, better then kicking steps. A very fun hike.
