Ride mountain bike up to the summit, probably the only bikable California 14er.

It is another world up there. Recommend driving down Silver Canyon if you have high clearance and low gear.

white White Mtn
Great hike with a few inches of snow on the trail! We saw about 20 sheep toward the summit with one big male guarding the herd. I sure didnt want to see those horns up close! :-o Even the clouds and the cold couldnt hold us back. It was a fun adventure and my 2nd 14er with RocketsRedGlare!

The Yellow Brick Road
Wanted to climb Middle Pal but weren't prepared for the snow, my buddy hadn't done White yet so we tagged it instead. Winter conditions, amazing feeling and vibe on the way up, saw some bighorn, took some great shots and then headed home.
My second time his first but the winter conditions and Scotty made it a different experience all together.

Quick 14er
Really quick hike to the summit. Great views from the top. Had the mountain to myself (except for some sheep at Barcroft). Started at 5 a.m. and was back at the trailhead at 10 a.m. with a good amount of time spent at the summit. Really windy and cold that day. Still worth the effort.

Bagged at last
White Mountain Peak was THE mountain I wanted to summit on my first visit to Bishop back in 2004, but it had wait until 2007 (it's a long way to come from the UK). The journey took five and a half hours as a solo climb (this is a lonely old peak if you do it on your own) but the views of the Eastern Sierra from the summit are second to none, as are the views over Nevada to the East (don't forget to check out the Bristlecone pines on the way up). Given the time and money, I would live in this area for years!!!

Picturesque views of the Sierra
Third summit trip in as many years. Not difficult, but the views of the Sierra across the valley are unbelievable. I've heard the hike by full moon is fun - maybe next go 'round.

A repeat performance
A fun outing. Even got to balance a rock at the summit!
'Twas the 1 day in 2007 that the Barcroft research center was open to the public, and there was lots of traffic. The roadkill museum exhibit was an added plus!

Nice AM. 1:57 up, 1:34 down. Nice little herd of sheep at about 13,200' Ten by my count. I was in an anti-social mood so skipped the big Sierra Challenge group fest on Rodgers today.

Got an early start so we could watch the sun rise over the Sierra
What an incredible view. A hundred miles of the Sierra crest on one side, the great basin and Nevada on the other.
