Breakfast instead of another hike
Most memorable was the most recent: Slept in a bit, got a breakfast burrito, and didn't make it up Tioga Pass before the gate was closed for the day due to snow falling and covering the road. Onward to Carson Pass we went for a short hike and then the drive home. Falls Ridge had made a full enough weekend the day prior that we didn't mind not doing much hiking Sunday.

Cowboy Steak Sandwich
I spent a week in Yosemite Valley with family and friends. To get there we drove north from So. Cal via hwy 99. My brother said he wanted to go home via Tioga Pass/Hwy 395 with a stop for the Whoa Nelli Deli. Whoa Nelli had been on my bucket list for some time so I joined his team. I can't wait to do it again!

Sheesh
A climber's log for Whoa Nelli? OK, I gotta sign. Have summited many times, usually with family from Mammoth.

Double dipping
I went for a weekend binge, hitting up the grilled veggie burger on Friday evening on my way north and the fish tacos for lunch on my way back south on Sunday. Yuummmmm...
I'm still training to do a 395 traverse of breafast at the Whoa Nelli Deli, followed by lunch at Schatt's, and then a milk shake at Primos.
I was green and without guidebook but still this stumbled onto this Sierra classic. My drive was nearing its crux the fuel gauge told me when the WND appeared. Now a little more experienced and with route (food) beta, I am eager to return.

World famous fish tacos...
Been here a few times, for snacks and the Mango Margaritas, 1st time I have actually had a meal. Fish tacos are huge, personally like the mango/plum variation better. Beans also quite tasty.
Will definately repeat this one

Worked through the crux...
...and found a place to park.
Great place to stop - even with the Labor Day Weekend crowds!
I’ve soloed routes here as well as having probably a dozen or so friends along (or on adjacent routes) concurrently. I wouldn’t mind partnering with some of the women behind the registers; I might need my alpine tool for that. The views are frequently very nice. The finest & perhaps most committing lines include the Fish Tacos & aptly named Steak Ceasar Salad, although the short & easy BBQ Chicken Pizza is a classic in its own rite. While the Mango Margaritas require (financial) commitment, I think that the (alcoholic) rating of the route isn’t as stiff as it necessarily could (or should) be to warrant queuing up over it over some of the adjacent ones (beer, etc.).
All in all, a first-class climbers’ area- I’ll be back.

Fish Tacos
After a couple thwarted attempts and a full winter of preparation I finally had a succesful summit bid. It was worth the effort and I will be back to try more routes
the actual number of successful summits @ Whoa Nellie! The fish tacos are da bomb, the KC strip caesar salad is phat, and the carnitas make you wish you ordered a second helping. Hope to one-day have the appetite for the BBQ/pesto pizza, and possibly arrive early enough for breakfast!

Easy approach on the eyes but sustained and dedicated eatting! Mouth watering. Topped out on the garlic mashed potatoes. I'd do this route again. Timeless and classic!
